Model Answer:

Thank you, sir/ madam, for this cue card. I can relate to many occasions when I had to borrow some things from my near and dear ones. Nonetheless, for this cue card topic, I am going to describe an event when I was bound to borrow some cash money from my uncle.

It was about four years ago when I was a fresh graduate from a university. I was looking for something to do as I don’t like to be free. So, I told some of my close friends to look for a job if they know. One day one of those friends gave me a call and told me that he somehow managed to get a lucrative job interview for me. But he insisted I meet him the next morning. I was at a loss. My friend lives in the capital and I am from a small town. So, it was far away from my home place. I had to get the night bus and reach the capital immediately. But I had not a single penny with me as I was struggling to get a job. That time I remembered my uncle who used to live in the same place. I met him straight away and explained the situation and requested him to lend me some money. He gave me around 750 dollars and wished me luck.

I thanked him for the help he provided and went to the capital. Luckily, I got the job and my interview pleased the authority. When I got the good news, I immediately phoned my uncle, and hearing the news he burst into tears. He was so happy about my success. I also showed my appreciation and stated that without his immediate help, I could not have got this job. When I got my first salary, I returned the money to my uncle.

I borrowed many other things from other people. But this one is very special for me to remember. It is because it was my first job ever and I borrowed the money from my own uncle. I think it was a good decision to make not to ask for money from a friend rather I asked my uncle. My uncle visits me some time and I mention the event to him and show my gratitude sometimes.

Thank you.

This is the end of the answer.
